A Welcome

Welcome! This site is home to both a 501(c)3 not-beholden-to-profit organization based in the San Francisco Bay Area and people, projects, and ideas dedicated to building communities on purpose to work toward peace by growing the process arts. Some are history, some in progress, and some still fictions - waiting for imagination to gather support enough to grow feet and spring forth into the world. Some are the creation of individual people, others are organic outgrowths of the desires of a community. Most are parts of all of the above.

ABC is an intentional, distributed (non-residential) community whose identity emerges from the work and relationships of its members and the people we touch and support and is, therefore, both strong and flexible.

This wiki reflects that inclusive and shifting reality and is less concerned with who owns/originated what than with building a world in which the vast majority of people endorse and live by the Big Ideas Making Cultures that lead to life and shared flourishing by challenging the inner habits and outer structures that diminish capacity and valorize Power Over others.

Please create your profile by clicking on your name (to the left) and editing your page. Please say how you are connected to the people and ideas featured here. You also might want to tour the site, read a bit, contribute comments, that sort of thing. In that case, a good place to start is our menu (on the left) or sitemap (above under tools).

What's/Why a wiki?

John Abbe, as is often the case, says it well.

"we (RecentChanges Camp) welcome and engage folks who may not be geeks, but are active in community, activism, collaboration, bottom-up organizing, and other offline activities that share the spirit of the wiki way. Of course it helps if they're curious about what's alive in the tech world and how it can serve them and their work/play."

Wiki's are all over because of the wiki way. It is the way (process ethic) of wiki that is the thing.

This needs work soon. Can we make this an ongoing collaborative project related to the endless refining of our identity?
